How to repair the broken water heater? Various troubleshooting methods.

Various fault repair methods for water heaters

Fault 1: Sudden tripping under normal heating

Reason 1: The heating tube and the temperature-sensitive switch probe conduct heat directly through the metal. If the heat conduction is too fast or too high, it will cause a malfunction. Processing: Pull the temperature-sensitive switch probe from the bottom of the blind tube about 40mm and cut off the power, and turn the multimeter to the maximum A large number of resistance files with a degree of 20MΩ; then connect the two test leads to the heating tube shell and any power terminal respectively. If the cold insulation resistance is greater than 5Ω, the heating tube needs to be replaced;

Reason 2: The insulation performance of the heating tube has decreased (generally appearing after a period of use), and its insulation resistance is unstable. When the leakage current exceeds a certain value, the leakage protection plug will act immediately. Treatment: check, remove or replace the heating tube;

Reason 3: Leakage treatment between other charged components and the casing: check, remove or replace components;

Reason 4: The leakage protection plug is in poor contact with the inferior socket, and malfunctions due to overheating. Treatment: Replace the socket;

Reason 5: Failure of either the leakage protection plug or the temperature-sensitive switch. Treatment: Replace the temperature-sensitive switch or the leakage protection plug.

Fault 2: No leakage occurs when it is not heated, and leakage occurs after filling up with water:

Reason: The heating tube shell burns through and leaks water and conducts electricity. Treatment: Replace the heating tube.

Fault 3: The heating indicator light is on, but it cannot be heated:

Reason 1: Poor contact or disconnection at the connector end of the heating tube. Treatment: Check and eliminate;

Reason 2: The heating tube is burned out. Treatment: Replace the heating tube.

Fault 4: The heating indicator light is off, and it cannot be heated:

Reason 1: Poor contact or disconnection of the thermostat connector end: check and eliminate;

Reason 2: The thermostat burns out. Treatment: replace the thermostat.

Fault 5: The indicator light of the water heater keeps on

Reason: There are few contact points between the temperature-sensing surface of the thermostat and the flange of the electric heating pipe. Treatment: reinstall the thermostat to make the temperature-sensing surface contact.

Fault 6: No heat preservation function, keep heating until trip:

Reason: The operating temperature of the thermostat is too high or it has melted. Short-circuit treatment: replace the thermostat.

Fault 7: Heating time is too long:

Reason 1: The water heater does not use the highest power range for heating (for electric water heaters with power conversion function). Treatment: Turn the power conversion switch to the maximum power range;

Reason 2: The electric heating tube is broken. Treatment: Replace the electric heating tube.

Fault 8: It has been in the heat preservation state and cannot be reheated:

Reason: The thermostat cannot be reset and has been in an open circuit. Processing: replace the thermostat.
